My Review
White Smoke The Missing Shimla Girl is one
of the best mystery novel I have read so far in 2017 by an India author. Book
consists of three different plots without getting mingled in one another. Virat
and Payal who were once a loved couple later things turned bitter between them.
Arjun and Mahi, a lopsided story which then shape in a form of nightmare. Heinous murder cases which shook the nation. Book
will veered your flow and you would find standing in a mid of two diversion.
Suspense portion just thrilled me.
Book begins with Virat, a
loner; who always remain aloof due to his personal life. Until I found a
picture of the girl in school library. A picture which became his possession.
Story then shift to Arjun and Mahi. Arjun who was drug addict a spoilt brat of
rich family whereas Mahi who hails from business family too but she was blue
stoking of her class. Love blossomed between them very late, but it was too
late then. Third part of the story reflects business tycoon murders. Cases look
like as if they can’t be solved.
Language of the book was crisp
and so enjoyable. I felt different flavors with each page I flip. Narration was
just so fine, it will not drag readers directly to last page at once, readers
can complete it in multiple sittings because as I said earlier plot differs
from page to page. Title of the book was catchy and goes with the storyline.
Whereas book cover was beautifully designed and readers can hunch on the book
just by seeing cover.
Multiple characters were
involved in the story but they will not make readers confused. Character
building was so strong that I myself ponder whom I loved the most, a sane boy
like Virat or Arjun whom one will hate once the book finishes or officer like
Mathur, brainy; guy I tell you.
Plot moves between past and
present and I enjoyed every bit of it. There was no boredom anywhere. I enjoyed
how the murder cases were solved and the budding relationship between Arjun and
Mahi. The ending chapter was brilliant but the last page will blow your mind.
The only flaw I felt was book
was guessing a little may be readers won’t find it. Perception varies.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed
the book and I would rate 3.5/5 stars. Book has entered into the most
anticipated book of the 2017. Wait! Review is finished. Go and grab the book.
